Founder & CEO

Eric Wong is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of EWC Consulting & Advisory, a boutique consulting firm specialising in business setup, legal drafting, tax advisory, and strategic business management in Malaysia.

A qualified corporate and commercial lawyer by profession and a licensed company secretary, Eric brings with him years of experience advising startups, SMEs, and corporations on navigating Malaysia’s regulatory landscape. His legal background, combined with a deep understanding of business operations and taxation, allows him to provide clients with holistic, practical, and commercially sound solutions.

Under his leadership, EWC has built a reputation for offering clear, dependable, and value-driven advice—particularly in areas involving company incorporation, contract structuring, tax compliance, and operational strategy. Eric’s hands-on approach and strong professional network, including partnerships with licensed tax consultants and corporate advisors, ensure that EWC clients receive both strategic insight and technical precision.

Key Experiences

• Advising SC licensed and regulated private equity fund managers and private equity firms on various private equity related investment and business transactions in Malaysia.

• Appointed as a legal consultant for two US Nasdaq-listed companies, Eric played a crucial role in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts and agreements related to various aspects of business operations and legal matters, including risk management, attending and managing high-level negotiations with potential investors and international bankers.

• Drafted, reviewed, and negotiated high-value agreements and cross-border contracts with international business entities across various industries and also experienced in conducting due diligence, risk assessments, and negotiations for equity investments, joint ventures, and capital-raising activities.

• Advised and managed the day-to-day business and legal operations of several Malaysian private companies, ensuring compliance with corporate governance, regulatory requirements, and risk management.

• Represented and advised a Malaysian e-learning IT company in a corporate takeover exercise valued at RM500,000, ensuring compliance with corporate and regulatory requirements.
